Meet the Expert:

Kristen Jones

Account Manager

What got you into this business in the first place?
The whole internship scene can really open doors. The summer before my senior year in college, I interned in a prominent NYC agency. That experience opened my eyes to the exciting, fast-paced world of PR. After graduation, I was hired full-time by the same agency.
What was your "finest moment," the thing you're most proud of?
A professional moment that I get to experience at least once a year is our 360-review process. We're asked to review and provide feedback on our colleagues to help better ourselves, each other and the agency as a whole. Who better to review you than the people you work with each and everyday? Receiving a positive review or comment from my peers is by far the best reward and makes me want to work that much harder.
What attracted you to IMRE?
It's pretty cliché to say the "people," but, really, that's why I came to IMRE. I work with some of the most talented professionals in our industry.
What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could sing. My grandfather has a powerful voice and even used to sing the National Anthem at Redskins games. (Ssshhh, we're in Ravenstown).
If you had to live on a desert island, what would you miss most?
Books. I love to read and am inspired by many different types of books. I'd also miss my phone. I talk to both of my sisters at least once a day and couldn't imagine being disconnected from them, or anyone else for that matter.
Is there any food that helps you think more creatively?
A nice crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc on my back porch after a long day is what does it for me. The ideas don't flow when I'm stressed or trying too hard to come up with that perfect plan or concept. I'm much more successful when I'm relaxed.
What's your favorite sports team?
There are two criteria that I use for designating my favorite sports teams—the sporting experience and how loud I cheer at the games. For the experience, hands down would be Penn State football. But I cheer the loudest for my brother-in-law who plays professional lacrosse for the Long Island Lizards. Being an ex-lacrosse player myself, I cherished my college days playing Division 1 for JMU.
What's your P.O.V. about politics?
That's easy—never talk politics. Especially to my brother.
Tell us about your pets.
My husband and I are proud dog-parents to the illustrious Frankie "Frank the Tank" Blue and Sidney "Shaky Butt" Jones. An observation for anyone thinking about adopting a boxer or two: they are extremely loyal, loving and protective dogs, and they are very good with children. However, they require a lot of exercise and human affection.
What do you do for a good time outside of work?
I'm blessed to have such a large family, so much of my free time is spent with them. Otherwise, I like to curl up on the couch with a good book.
What was college like for you?
I was a student-athlete in college, so it was class and then practice for up to 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, plus games. Being part of the Final Four National Championship team was definitely a highlight.
What are your favorite websites?
I am a celebrity news junkie—so I would have to say Perez Hilton. I compare my addiction to celebrity news to men and sports. For some reason, guys have extra brain space for useless sports knowledge and can spout out any stat for any athlete in any sport at any time. That's me with the celebrity world. Please don't judge.
What do you like most about working at IMRE?
The caliber of our clients, the quality of work we produce and the opportunity for professional growth. How can you beat working with some of the best brands, generating exceptional results and having fun while doing it?
