Meet the Expert:
Kris Welsh
Account Manager
Is there any food that helps you think more creatively?
Pixie Stix. There’s no sugar high like a Pixie Stix high. In the past,
I’ve let it get the best of me. Some folks here staged an intervention once. But I don’t
have a problem. Honestly I don’t.
What attracted you to IMRE?
That’s an easy one: Dave Imre and Mark Eber. When I interviewed, I
loved the people and their enthusiasm for the company. But it seemed too good to be true.
How could that many people be so gung-ho about the agency? When I met Dave and Mark, it all made
sense. The company’s sense of humor, work ethic and genuine respect for clients and employees come
from them. I wanted to be a part of it, and proudly have been for more than five years now.
What was growing up like for you?
If I said it was great and that I had the best family ever, it would sound
impossible or phony. But it’s not. My parents were young, fun, healthy, happy and they instilled
great values. The most common sound in our house was laughter, and I’m so grateful for that. They’re
now giving the same gifts to my kids. It’s the coolest.
The secret to a great brand is...
Smart people and products that deliver. (Is that my John Deere talking??)
What talent do you wish you had?
I have always wished for a singing voice. I cry at the end of plays and
musicals—partly because I’m so in awe of the actors’ talents and partly because I’m sorry it’s
not me!
What’s your favorite and least favorite TV program?
If I say my favorite show is the original Beverly Hills 90210, is that
more of a knock on my age or my intelligence? I loathe the new wannabe 90210. Don’t mess with
a classic—it never works. If I can give you a second favorite show, I’d say Dexter. It’s the
smartest show on TV.
What do you do for fun outside of work?
The list used to be long and exciting, but now it’s as easy as saying: I have
a one-month old and a 14-month old. My good times are rolled into the time I spend with them.
What was college like for you?
After a rigorous high school prep experience, I thought college was actually
pretty easy. I was drawn to my PR and marketing classes since they were new and exciting.
What do you like most about working at IMRE?
The people.
