IMRE Launches Innovative iPhone App Designed to Spice Up Business Meetings

BALTIMORE, January 14, 2010 - IMRE, a full-service marketing agency, announced today the launch of a new iPhone application aimed at putting an end to boring business meetings with a word-based game. The in-house built application, called Meeting Madness, encourages co-workers to use buzzwords during business meetings and have a little fun.

"IMRE is an innovative agency that works to be at the forefront of the latest technological and social changes facing the industry," said Mark Eber, IMRE partner and chief operating officer.  "Meeting Madness is a fun way for us to showcase our skills and demonstrate that we are a leader in digital design and development."

To play Meeting Madness, participants are given key business buzzwords and are encouraged to artfully insert the words into meeting conversation to score points. The application provides a list of key phrases like "under-promise and over-deliver," "low-hanging fruit," or "go the extra mile" for players to use during the game. To really liven things up, the word list includes more than just business clichés. Pop culture terms are also provided, encouraging players to weave terms and phrases like "kiss da baby," "staycation," or "blame storming" into their business meetings.

Participants can play on a single or multi-player setting. Under the multi-player setting, players can earn "props" or 20 extra points from their co-workers for impressive word play.

Approved by Apple, Meeting Madness is now available for free download on iPhones.  To play Meeting Madness, players need to join a wireless network, find a few other colleagues to install the app and join in, and then, find a meeting.  Additional details can be found at www.imre.com/meetingmadness

The idea to create Meeting Madness stemmed from an employee contest. The concept was selected because it allowed the agency to highlight the skills of its talented digital and creative teams, as well as reveal a little about its fun-loving culture.

"Building this app in-house from scratch demonstrates that we are developing on the latest technological platforms and shows our sense of fun," said Eber. "We are looking forward to sharing Meeting Madness with the world and building new apps for our clients.  In fact, we have three app client projects in the pipeline now."

Meeting Madness is one of thousands of applications available for download in Apple's iPhone App Store. Categories offered include games, business, entertainment, news and more. Apps can be posted by anyone - from computer-savvy individuals to technical teams at Fortune 500 companies looking for new ways to raise their profiles and boost market share.
